New Delhi: Leaving no stone unturned till the last day of the Rajasthan assembly polls, the grand-old party has asked its workers to stay connected with the voters until the day of voting in the state, which is slated on December 7.
According to a senior Congress leader, the party leadership is "confident" of winning the Rajasthan assembly polls with a "thumping majority", so all the local leaders and party workers have been 'strictly' directed to stay in their respective constituencies till the polls get over.
"The party leadership has also directed its senior leaders deployed in every assembly constituency to hold at least one 'impressive' rally either in every constituency or in the cluster of assemblies," the Congress leader said.
"The people of Rajasthan are fed up with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government. They want change and Congress is the best alternative for them," said the leader, adding that the party leadership wants its leader to keep up the momentum in the state.
Notably, party workers ranging from booth level to state-level officer-bearers from the different states have been deployed in the state. As per the general practice, after a certain week of electioneering, usually, party workers move out of their allotted assembly constituencies.
The Congress, which has declared its candidates for the all 200 seats, is banking upon anti-incumbency wave against Vasundhara Raje to 'win' the state poll.
In the last assembly poll in 2013, the Congress was badly defeated by the BJP as it had won just 21 seats, while BJP had won 163 seats out of total 200 assembly seats. Notably, the opinion survey had predicted 110-120 seats for the Congress in a bipolar contest, while 70-80 seats for the ruling BJP.
