One year of dedication: Building a progressive Madhya Pradesh rooted in heritage
Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, is a land of rich cultural heritage and abundant resources. Over the past year, we have dedicated ourselves to achieving sustainable development while preserving this legacy. Guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our “double-engine government” has driven unprecedented progress, creating a foundation for a brighter future.
Currently, the state is celebrating the Jan Kalyan Parv (festival of public welfare), a testament to prosperity and progress. Through collective efforts, welfare programmes are reaching every citizen, paving the way for transformative initiatives.
Pioneering river-linking projects Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to implement two major river-linking projects — Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal and Ken-Betwa. These projects, set to begin this December under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, address water scarcity, improve groundwater levels and expand irrigation.
Alongside these, the rejuvenation of rivers like Khan and Narmada highlights our commitment to sustainable water management, fostering agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
Empowering farmers and promoting dairy farming agriculture remains central to our development agenda. Under the Kisan Kalyan Mission, efforts are underway to double the irrigated area to 10 million hectares, provide zero-interest loans, and ensure seamless access to fertilizers and seeds. Solar pumps are being distributed to farmers, empowering them to generate electricity.
Dairy farming is receiving a significant boost with subsidies for cattle breeding, aiming to make Madhya Pradesh a leading milk producer and exporter. These initiatives promise a green revolution and improved livelihoods for our farmers.
Industrial growth and job creation
The Industry Year 2025 campaign has brought Rs 4 lakh crore in investment proposals, with plans to create 2.5 lakh government jobs annually. Regional Industry Conclaves and global roadshows are connecting the state with international investors, ensuring industrial growth reaches every district.
Youth and Women Empowerment
The Yuva Shakti Mission focuses on education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. Madhya Pradesh, the first state to implement the National Education Policy, is blending ancient knowledge systems with modern education. Initiatives like PM Colleges of Excellence and block-level sports complexes are nurturing talent and innovation among youth.
For women, the Nari Shakti Mission has introduced historic reforms, including raising reservation in government jobs from 33% to 35%. Schemes like Ladli Behna Yojana provide financial support and hygiene programs benefit millions of girls, fostering economic and social empowerment.
Innovative governance and healthcare
We have streamlined governance through initiatives like cyber tehsils for online land and revenue services and DigiLocker for easy access to credentials. In healthcare, Madhya Pradesh is a national leader, with 51 medical colleges under development and 4 crore Ayushman Bharat health cards distributed. Air ambulance services ensure timely care for critical patients.
Cultural renaissance and tourism
Preserving Madhya Pradesh’s heritage remains a priority. Projects like the Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and spiritual tourism circuits honour our cultural legacy, while improved infrastructure ensures the state remains a top destination for religious and historical tourism.
A vision for the future
As we move forward, Madhya Pradesh is committed to doubling its economy and contributing to India’s goal of becoming a global superpower by 2047. Our focus on sustainable development, industrial growth, and inclusive welfare will ensure every promise is fulfilled.
Together, let us work towards a glorious and progressive Madhya Pradesh.
