Nepali Army Band makes historic debut at Indian Army Day Parade

PUNE: For the first time, the Nepali Army Band participated in the Indian Army Day Parade, held this year in Pune, Maharashtra, marking a significant milestone in the longstanding ties between the Indian and Nepali armies. The debut of the contingent underscored the deep bonds of cooperation and camaraderie shared by the two nations, reflecting their mutual commitment to peace, stability, and respect.

The contingent, comprising 33 members, including three women soldiers, brought a unique cultural and musical flair to the prestigious event. Featuring both a Brass and Pipe Band, their performance captivated the audience with a harmonious blend of musical traditions, symbolising the enduring cultural ties between India and Nepal. The participation of the Nepali Army Band not only enriched the celebration but also highlighted the growing military and diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi revealed that the Nepali Army Chief had promised the band’s participation during a recent visit to India. The fulfilment of this promise is a testament to the robust and evolving military ties between the two countries. The presence of the Nepali Army Band at the Army Day Parade served as a powerful symbol of unity and collaboration, further solidifying the partnership between the Indian and Nepali armed forces.
