Stocking a fresh controversy, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has now demanded scrapping of minority commission as well as Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The decision to raise the demand was proposed by the VHP during its two-day Central Management Committee meeting in Gujarat, concluded on Sunday.
Alleging that panels for minorities and dedicated ministry for them had been strengthening the feelings of separatism in the community, the VHP had demanded the scrapping of all the arrangements. "It should be immediately scrapped as the Human Rights Commission is much enough to protect the interests of every citizen of the country," said Surendra Kumar Jain, who is VHP's joint general secretary, in an official release.
According to the proposal, which has been passed by VHP's management committee, the Minority Commission had been creating an environment that minority communities are discriminated in the country, which was not true at any extent as they are enjoying every right that they are supposed to.
The VHP has also expressed their serious concern over bringing Tirupati temple's prasadam under the GST net. Expressing the concern over taxing pooja materials, the VHP has asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to remove the proposed tax on such material in the larger interest of devotees.
