The Federation of Traders' Organisation (FTO) of West Bengal will support the nationwide one-day strike called up by Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal against GST on Friday – just a day before GST will start operating in India.

Taraknath Trivedi, the general secretary of FTO West Bengal said on Monday that they have 70 Lakh members across the Bengal who will take part on the strike and agitation programme on Friday. "We are demanding the simplification and modification of GST. We also want the threshold limit to be increased from 20 Lakh to 1 Crore. The inter-state trade should be allowed immediately," Trivedi said.

Trivedi also said that they have some other demands and their member will stop trading on Friday to show protest against GST.
