Modi's appeal scaled up Khadi's sale: KVIC

New Delhi: In a rejoinder issued to The Wire, the Khadi Village and Industries Commission (KVIC) has claimed that there is no downfall in the sales of Khadi. The article "Spinning Tales: Modi's claims on Khadi sales don't add up" published in The Wire dated October 31 is a fact-twisted malicious script and written in a very cavalier manner, the KVIC release said.

Stating that the Prime Minister's love for Khadi is well known, the KVIC said, It was due to the appeal made by PM that the sale of Khadi has gone up many folds. It has registered a sale of Rs 429.93 crore between April 2016 and September 2016, which rose to Rs 813.86 crore, 89 per cent up from the same period in 2017."
