New Delhi: In a first, the Bihar government has started a new model to attract more youth to enroll in the state government's Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM). The scheme, which is christened as Recruit, Train and Deploy (RTD) model, is aimed at providing employment to youth trained under the scheme.
Dubbing the new model as a step further in skilling the youth of Bihar, BSDM Chief Executive Officer Deepak Kumar Singh said that the RTD model would further accentuate in skilling mission and effectively help in skill training of the youth and securing employment to all.
"It's a first of its kind model started by Bihar government under the aegis of National Skill Development Mission (NSDM). Some other states have also started on the similar lines of this model, but not on the pattern of recruiting, training and deploying an unemployed youth," said Singh, who is a Bihar cadre IAS officer and Principal Secretary in Labour Resources Department in the state government.
Singh further said, "The RTD model has been conceived in such as way that it would help in realising the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of developing trained human resource with the surety of employability. The NSDM is also mulling to adopt the scheme in their training module."
Explaining about the model, Singh said, "The RTD scheme would provide flexibility to industry to train candidates from any location having no restriction pertaining to location specificity. The scheme would also reduce the training cost and time by the industry as the candidate for training would be selected by industry people themselves after screening."
Any candidate of Bihar domicile in the age group of 15 to 45 years would be eligible with no reservations in terms of gender, caste, creed and religion. As of now 15 companies have joined the RTD platform and trained over 900 youth under the scheme.
