New Delhi: A delegation led by Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot has on Wednesday left for Argentina to participate in the 2nd Global Disability Summit, which is scheduled to be held from June 6 to June 8.
The team led by Gehlot has DEPwD secretary Shankutala Gamlin, Joint Secretary Prabodh Seth and Private Secretary to Minister Neeraj Semwal as other members.
The summit is to be held at Buenos Aires. The objective of the summit is to deliberate on issues across the world concerning empowerment and inclusion of PwDs and to work out a mechanism for enabling them to live an independent and dignified life.
The Union Minister had also attended the first Global Disability Summit held in London in July 2018. The delegation led Gehlot would also participate in the bilateral discussions with Government of Argentina for developing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries on June 9-10.
