Himachal Vidhan Sabha session to begin from February 4

Shimla: Advancing state Vidhan Sabha's session to pass next year's annual budget before upcoming Lok Sabha polls, HP cabinet on Tuesday decided to convene the session from February 4. The session will end on February 27, 2019.

During the session, Thakur, who also holds the finance portfolio will also present the annual budget. It will be his second budget. Earlier, the session used to last for over a month but this time the session will have limited sittings.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the meeting which also cleared hundreds of new job openings for the youths in the government sector including police.

The Cabinet decided to recruit 1,063 constables in the Police department on regular basis through direct recruitment, to ensure better law and order situation in the State out which 213 will be women constable. The Cabinet decided to fill up 200 posts of MBBS doctors on contract basis through walk-in-interview in Health and Family Welfare Department to cope with the shortage of doctors in remote and far-flung areas of the State.

In another move, the cabinet decided to start new ' Ujjwala Grihini Suvidha Yojna' in the State to achieve the goals of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna.

The Cabinet decided to increase the incentive amount of MBBS doctors appointed or to be appointed on a contract basis by Rs. 10,000 per month and that of specialist doctors by Rs. 15000 per month to encourage doctors to serve in tribal, remote and far-flung areas of the State.
