Haryana to regularise 450 unauthorised colonies

Chandigarh: Haryana government has decided to regularise as many as 450 unauthorised colonies situated beyond the municipal limits, falling under the purview of the Town and Country Planning Department.

This transformative decision showcases the government’s commitment for equitable urban growth, fulfilling the ownership dreams of numerous families residing in such colonies and fostering a more organised and well-planned urban landscape.

Divulging more details in this regard, Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing a press conference held here today said of the total 450 colonies that have been decided to be regularised include 239 colonies falling under the jurisdiction of the Town and Country Planning Department, and 211 colonies of the Urban Local Bodies Department.

With this addition, a cumulative total of 1135 unauthorized colonies will have been regularised from the year 2014 up to the present, informed Khattar. He said that a provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for basic development works in such colonies.

Meanwhile, families residing in such colonies also attended the press conference through video concerning. The short film highlighting the transparent and clean administration given by the the present government and the pioneering decision taken by it was also played during the press conference.

“The development works of the colonies which fall outside the municipality area will be done by the Haryana Rural Development Authority.

The development work of the colonies located within the municipality will be done by the concerned municipality,” informed Khattar.

About district-wise colonies, the Chief Minister said that with the regularisation of 92 colonies Yamunanagar is on the top followed by Faridabad where 59 colonies have been regularised today.
