Shimla: Even as Himachal Pradesh remains under indefinite curfew and lockdown, there came good news for the state's medical administration.
One of the two coronavirus cases has shown signs of significant recovery and improvement in his health condition.
Currently admitted at Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College (RPMC) hospital, Tanda (Kangra), a 32-year old youth has now been tested negative.
This was informed hereby Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman, who is also the nodal officer for coronavirus.
A 63-year-old woman, the second positive case is still to be tested to know her exact condition.
Last week, both had returned from Dubai and Singapore respectively and tested positive thereafter.
When contacted at the Medical superintendent at RPMC hospital Dr Surinder Bhardwaj confirmed that the report of the male patient was received on Friday. He has been tested negative.
This is the most satisfying thing for the hospital and also state, where one death has already been reported.
State Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who reviewed the situation this morning, after the relaxation of curfew, said: "So far no new case of coronavirus has been detected during past four days even as a total 2,409 persons having travel history of visits to foreign countries, have been kept under home quarantine to check the spread of the virus in the state".
Earlier to this 688 persons have already completed mandatory home quarantine periods.
One person –a state government employee, who posted a video declaring himself as coronavirus case despite his test reports not showing any such signs, have been booked by the police for his false and misleading claim.
Director General of Police S R Mardi said: "By and large, the people are cooperating with the police in enforcement of the curfew and abiding directions to stay home.
Yet, there have been cases of violations too which is very unfortunate".
Till now 162 FIRs have been lodged and 100 persons arrested for violations.
During a video conference with Deputy Commissioners and senior officials, the Chief Minister asked the officials to work-out arrangements for home deliveries of essential goods to enforce social distancing.
