Faridabad: Three killed, 2 injured in car-SUV collision on Delhi-Agra highway
Faridabad: Three people were killed and two others injured after a car collided with an SUV on the Delhi-Agra National Highway here in the early hours of Saturday, police said.
An FIR has been registered against the SUV driver at Sector 58 police station, they said.
According to police, the three who died in the accident were residents of different villages in Palwal district. They were identified as Manish of Banchari village, Deepanshu of Bhanguri village and Trivendra of Krishna Colony. The injured include Bhupendra of Narhavali village and Satpal of Baithan village, they added.
The five were employed at a JCB company in Faridabad and were returning home in an Ertiga car after completing their night shift. Satpal was driving the vehicle, a police officer said.
The accident occurred around 3.00 am when their car took a turn from the JCB cut towards Palwal and the SUV rammed into their vehicle head-on, causing it to overturn multiple times before coming to a halt on the opposite side of the road, he said.
All five occupants of the car were injured. The car’s bonnet also caught fire following the collision but was doused by bystanders, the officer added.
