Etawah Police take 11-year-old for joyride after the child complains about father
New Delhi: An interesting case has come to light from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh where an 11-year-old boy approached the city police station with a complaint against his father. The officer present on duty filmed the complaint which went viral.
The angry child wanted police to teach his father a lesson for not taking him to the exhibition in the city despite repeated requests.
The child who identified himself as Om Narayan Gupta was furious as some of his friends were going to the exhibition but when he approached his father Amar Nath Gupta for the same, not only his request was turned down but he was also beaten up.
The video that has become viral on social media shows the angry boy complaining and a calm and composed police officer asking him several questions to know about his ordeal.
What followed was really not just interesting but also a noble effort by the UP Police. The police team accompanied the boy to his home and counselled his father.
The story did not just end here, instead, the Etawah police decided to take the boy along with his father and 50 underprivileged children to the exhibition.
The pictures that were circulated on social media like Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter brought immense applause for the Etawah police for their out of the book gesture and humble attitude.
"Unbelievable but True, Parents who punish their children physically and do not give them their due time could find Police knocking at their doors in India too. A child wronged by his father in Etawah reached to Police Station and the SHO reached his house & counselled his father," said Rahul Srivastava, PRO, UP police.
The gesture also brought appreciation from IG Uttar Pradesh Navniet Sekera who said "Superb work Etawah police. All of us must be sensitive to woman and children issues."
