Greater Noida: Gautam Buddh Nagar police have arrested a 30-year-old man who brutally killed his two daughters, aged 5 years and 3 years, by crushing their head with a blunt and heavy object in Surajpur area of Greater Noida on Thursday night. According to police, the accused has been identified as Harish Solanki, a painter by profession. He lived at a rented room in Surajpur town area along with his wife and two daughters.
The incident came to light after victim's mother saw her elder daughter lying in a pool of blood inside her house with her face badly crushed.
"On Thursday night, Harish had come to his house in an inebriated condition and a heated argument broke out between the couple over some issue. He took both the daughters along with him out of the house and returned after a couple of hours. When victim's mothers asked him about their daughters, the accused told her that he had killed them and fled away from the spot," said Kumar Ranvijay Singh, superintendent of police (rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The mother and a few neighbours immediately informed a nearby police station to look for her missing children. Police and neighbors started a search and they were found on early Friday morning. "The body of elder girl was found from the room inside their house while the younger was found from a vacant plot a few meters away from their house on early Friday morning," added Singh.
Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR into the matter while the accused has been arrested by police. "Preliminarily investigations showed that the accused is an alcoholic person and used to fight with his wife over petty issues as he had a doubt of her character. The accused was in an inebriated condition on the night of incident. We have detained the accused and the bodies of both the victims have been sent for post mortem. Investigations are underway and we will reveal the actual reason behind the incident," said Jitendra Deekshit, station house officer of Surajpur police station.
