BJP Prez Amit Shah to get more security by MHA, after IB inputs

New Delhi: After a security review by the Intelligence Bureau, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to enhance the security cover of Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah, as per its inputs.

The Centre has now decided to provide Advance Security Liasoning (ASL) facility which can be comparable to an elite club of people, like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of India Ram Nath Kovind.

The BJP chief is already equipped with Z Plus security. But now, the place where Shah will have to visit, the ASL team will preview the security arrangements of the venue, two weeks before and will suggest the state police administration over the required arrangements.

"An advance team will preview of places, where Shah will be visiting, and states would be advised to take adequate precautions after each assessment carried out by the ASL team. However, the ministry has already communicated to all states to follow the new procedure of security arrangement of Amit Shah," an MHA official mentioned.

This security cover is generally be provided, whom IB calls as a 'high-risk individual'. High-profile individuals adjudged as constantly under threat are brought under various kinds of security cover – SPG, Z+, Z, Y and X categories.

In addition, the BJP national president already gets round clock CRPF cover, 30 commandos, in their circle every time, along with states' own security arrangements.
