New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident of getting the majority in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Telangana. Setting the slogan of 'Mission 60+', the saffron party is making serious efforts to gain hold and win the maximum number of seats in the state.
The party chief, Amit Shah, will be on a day visit to the state on Wednesday, where he will hold a meeting with the charges of Shakti Kendras at Hyderabad and later will address a public meeting at Karimnagar.
Around 5,000 booth level workers are expected to attend the meeting and in the evening Shah is also scheduled to meet 119 constituency convenors at Hyderabad.
Furthermore, on 3rd, 4th and 5th of this month, the state unit held a coordination meeting, where more than 3,000 applications have been submitted by the ticket aspirants across the state, Sadhana Sharma, senior BJP leader of the state said.
Reportedly, state BJP unit has also forwarded to their party high command a list of 12 constituencies which they are confident of winning. They have told the party high command that the chances of their winning in these constituencies are very high and if they do, KCR will be forced to form a Post-Poll Alliance with them.
Party source mentioned that it is targeting the urban voters, which is core vote bank for the saffron party. Hence, the north part of the state is the first priority of Shah.
Reportedly, shortlisted names of candidates will also be submitted to the BJP national president during the meeting at Karimnagar. The party has already welcomed the dissidents, who failed to secure tickets from the TRS and the Congress.
Meanwhile, sources told the Millennium Post that during Navaratri the party will be releasing its manifesto for the Assembly elections, where it will stress on farmers' loan waive and 2 lakh job generation, where the current number is 10,000.
The Assembly elections are due on December 7, 2018, in Telangana along with Rajasthan. In the last elections, the saffron party bagged only five seats out of 119.
