Bihar father-son duo's plan to take holy dip in Ganga lands them in police net
Taking a holy dip in river Ganga turned out to be a curse for Bihar's noted automobile businessman Nikhil Priyadarshi and his retired IAS father, who were on the run in a high profile sex racket case.
The plan of the duo to take a holy dip near Lakshman Jhoola in Rishikesh to seek divine intervention in getting rid of the heinous crime was abruptly foiled by the Uttarakhand Police when the cops detained both in routine check-up round.
According to Pauri Garhwal SSP Mukhtar Mohsin, both Nikhil and his retired IAS father Krishna Bihari Prasad had traversed from Delhi via Haridwar to Rishikesh for a Ganga snan.
"During the interrogation, both of them confessed that they had come to Rishikesh for a holy dip in the Ganga as the pious river has the power to destroy every sin committed knowingly or unknowingly," said Mukhtar Mohsin.
"During their initial run, both were hiding themselves in Delhi and nearby areas. They first visited Haridwar and performed rituals for their safety and then moved to visit Rishikesh to perform other "needed" rituals," Mohsin said, adding that both the accused had planned to return back to Delhi for a safe stay, but luck finally ran out and they were arrested by Chilla police Chowki cops that comes under Lakshman Jhoola police station. Priyadarshi and his friends are accused of supplying girls to high profile Bihar politicians and bureaucrats and of sexually exploiting the teenage daughter of a former minister on the promise of marriage.
The victim had accused Priyardarshi of running a sex racket in collusion with other high profile businessmen, including some political leaders and police official. The case had surfaced in December
last year.
