Bangladesh PM Hasina to visit India from April 7 to 10

After almost seven years of gap, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to Delhi on April 7 on a  four-day bilateral visit. Major agreements including defence would likely to be signed during this visit. 

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is likely to invite West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to participate in the delegation level talks among other four Chief Ministers of North-Eastern states. 

Though the Bangladesh Prime Minister is coming to India at the invitation of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, She will be staying in the guest house of the Raisina Hills. President Pranab Mukherjee personally requested her to stay in the Rashtrapati Bhavan during her stay in Delhi. Prime Minister Hasina would be arriving on April 7 afternoon. She will have bilateral meeting with PM Modi on 8th morning in the Hyderabad House. PM Modi will have a restricted meeting with the visiting Prime Minister followed by a delegation level talk.

Next day Hasina would be awarding special thanks for the family of the Indian soldiers who died during the freedom struggle of the Bangladesh. She will pay a special respect for the martyrs of the liberation struggle. This will be the first time that a head of the Government of a foreign country would be paying respect for the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives for the liberation struggle of a foreign country. 

Though the family of Hasina has a close relationship with the Gandhi family, it is yet to be known whether Congress president Sonia Gandhi would be meeting the visiting Hasina. Before departing for Dhaka, Hasina would pay a visit to Ajmer Sharif also. Apart from the PM hosting a banquet for the visiting Bangladesh PM, President Mukherjee will also invite Hasina for a luncheon meeting in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
