B L Santosh appointed BJP general secretary (org)

New Delhi: BJP Karnataka joint-general secretary and RSS man B L Santosh holds the third most important position of the saffron party now, after Amit Shah and Jagat Prakash

Nadda. Santosh has been appointed as the general secretary (organisation) of the party on Sunday. He was made a national office bearer in charge of southern states in 2014.

His predecessor Ramlal has been appointed as Akhil Bharatiya Sahsampark Pramukh (national co-communication head) on Saturday and moved back to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) after over a decade. Sooner after the announcement, Santosh tweeted, "It was 12 years of learning with Ramlal from 2006. I was deputed to the political field along with him. Calm, composed, attention to details was his hallmark. He was a father figure to many like me. Back to Sangh work. Wish you all the best Ji ..We will miss you."

The role of general secretary (organisation) is to coordinate between Sangh and BJP. It is a tradition of RSS to put its candidate in the top position of the affiliates.

Reportedly, B L Santosh was one of the choices of

BJP as its CM candidate

during the last Assembly elections and is known for a carper of BS Yeddyurappa. However, he never mentioned anything in public.
