Andhra Govt announces Rs 1,000 for unemployment youth every month

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Government will provide Rs 1,000 per month to every month to unemployment youths of the State under "Mukhya Mantri- Yuva Nestham" scheme. The decision was taken in a meeting which was held here on Thursday under the leadership of State IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

While addressing the media after the state cabinet meeting, Nara Lokesh said, "Around 12 lakh youths in the 22-35 years age group will be benefitted through the scheme. Registration for enrolling into the scheme will start from either third or fourth week of August. It will be extended to all eligible members even if there is more than one in the family. The scheme won't be applicable to those paying provident fund. We will implement the scheme in a very transparent manner like pension scheme. The money will be credited directly into bank accounts through biometric authentication".

"Simultaneously, we will impart skill development and train the youth in the fields of their interests. Also, by integrating state and central schemes, we will roll out apprenticeship programme through which the youth can get on-job training and upgrade their skills", he added.

Nara Lokesh took special interest to ensure the smooth rolling out of the scheme as such schemes failed in other states. He played a crucial role in leveraging technology and in the creation of website and mobile application for enrolment and other processes involved in the schemes.

Nara Lokesh said, "We will provide the facility for companies across the country to

register themselves on the portal and recruit the youth based on their requirements and to even schedule interviews through the app."
