Lucknow: Denying Yogi Adityanath government's charges on bungalow damage row, former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has announced a reward of Rs 11 lakh for naming persons who had visited the place with hammers and pickaxe at night to vandalise it after he vacated his government residence 4, Vikramaditya Marg on June 2.
"A few people had gone to the bungalow at night with hammers and pickaxe. They vandalised the place to put the blame on me. The Samajwadi Party announces a reward of Rs 11 lakh to anyone, including journalists, to divulge their names to expose the conspiracy behind bungalow damage," said Yadav while speaking at function in Lucknow.
Yadav denied the government's charge that he had not sought any prior written permission from the Estate department for carrying out extensive construction work illegally.
"The house which was snatched was not his but a government property. Nothing was constructed illegally there. All approvals were obtained from the Lucknow Development Authority and other agencies. We have already submitted all NOCs as proofs while vacating the bungalow," claimed Yadav.
In an obvious reference to Cabinet Miniser Dr Siddhath Nath Singh, the SP Chief quipped: "A Cabinet rank minister wrote to me to hand over the bungalow to him. He did not like Rajnath Singh or Kalyan Singh's residences but only mine. Now you can very well guess who was behind vandalism at the bungalow.'
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yadav said that he knows only 'puja-paath' and has no experience in running the government. "It was due to his inexperience, he is only laying foundation stones one after another instead of doing development of the state," charged he.
Yadav also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath's claims of bringing Rs 60,000 crore investments into Uttar Pradesh. "Tell me which bank has sanctioned a penny to these industrialists to invest in the state," he pointed.
"They are searching
taps in my bungalow while those who pocketed huge loans from banks ran away from the country. Who had given them the passport" asked the SP Chief.
