Najeeb Jung, Delhi’s Lieutenant-Governor on Thursday announced an additional grant of Rs 5 crore to the Tibbia College and Hospital in the current financial year to help improve the infrastructure and facilities.
Jung also directed the Public Works Department, health and finance departments to work out a comprehensive restoration and renewal plan for the college and hospital.
This will include restoration of the buildings, upgradation and modernization of Out patient department (OPD) facilities, in patient wards, laboratories, hostels, pharmacy, library, kitchen and toilets. Further, in order to strengthen the OPDs, Ayurveda and Unani experts from outside shall be invited to be on the hospital’s panel.
A schedule of their weekly visits shall be drawn up and publicized for the general public.
The LG also stressed upon filling up the existing staff vacancies on an urgent basis.
