The State Council meeting of Northern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides was held at Northern Railway Headquarters office, Baroda House, in New Delhi on Friday. The meeting was presided over by V K Gupta, general manager, Northern Railway & Patron, NRBS&G and was attended by Anup Sahu, AGM/N.Rly, Akhil Agarwal, CSTE/N.Rly and state chief commissioner of the NRBS&G and other senior railway officers and volunteers from different divisions of Northern Railway, North Central Railway and North Western Railway, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala etc.
Northern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary organization of Railway staff & their wards, involved in multifaceted activities in the fields of nation building and social service. It provides valuable assistance to Railway administration in handling natural calamities, disaster management, crowd management at Railway stations during festive and rush periods, safety awareness campaigns for prevention of trespassing & accidents at unmanned level crossings. During the State Council meeting, V K Gupta, general manager, Northern Railway reviewed recent activities of Northern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides.
During the recent flash flood calamity in Uttrakhand, scouts & guides of Moradabad district of the organisation ran round the clock camps at Dehradoon, Haridwar and other places.
