Muzaffarnagar riots and other incidents of violence in the state were ‘not communal’ but work of criminals, Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan has said.
‘Muzaffarnagar riots were not communal but criminal in nature...,’ the UP Urban Development Minister said on Monday while speaking to reporters at an event here.
On allegations of his involvement in the riots, Khan said he was ready to face any punishment if rulers in Delhi could prove his involvement.
‘The truth regarding Muzzaffarnagar, Kanth, Saharanpur and Badaun incidents have started to come out. People have begun to realize the reality of those leaders who talked of ‘achche din’ (good days). They shall face drubbing in the coming elections,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said the claims made by BJP regarding Modi effect and ‘achche din’ have proven to be baseless and cited the election results in Bihar
and other states as an example.
