Former president General(retd) Pervez Musharraf has been summoned to appear in the additional sessions court in the Lal Masjid case on 1 March. The case was filed on behalf of Abdul Rasheed, a cleric of Lal Masjid who died in the military operation along with his mother in 2007. The court granted exemption to Musharraf and asked him to appear on 1 March, according to Tariq Asad, lawyer for Rasheed. Musharraf was supposed to appear in court on Saturday but his lawyers submitted an application for exemption which was granted. Asad said the application cited security reasons for his non-appearance.
