Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday claimed that Delhi will overcome shortage of drinking water by commissioning Munak canal, which will result in saving of 80 MGD raw water. This will enable the three water plants in Dwarka, Okhla and Bawana functional. These are lying idle because of lack of required raw water at the moment. Dikshit has taken up the issue with PMO and Union Water Resource Ministry. Claiming that rapidly growing population is a challenge, she asked the people to conserve and make rational use of all natural resources, including water.
