In this scorching summer, there seems to be no respite for Delhiites from power cuts. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) on Wednesday decided to have major planned power cuts in areas due to the augmentation and maintenance work. More than 15,304 consumers may be affected and load shedding may persist from two to six hours.
Despite Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s stern action, power cuts are still continuing since February. On Tuesday, Jung instructed the Deputy Commissioners to monitor the electricity supply being provided by discoms and keep a tab on the power outages.
‘Tata Power has claimed that in order to continue uninterrupted power supply to its consumers, scheduled maintenance for their equipment is necessary,’ TPDDL officer said.
TPDDL informed that they have to cut off power due to predictive maintenance and project works which will be carried out in the following areas: Mungeshpur village, Inder Enclave, Nizamour, Garhi Randhala, Jyoti Colony, Jaunty in Bawana. In Civil Lines district( Gurmandi, Rajpura village and some part of 10,10A, 11,16 , 22 Block Shakti Nagar) and In Shakti Nagar district such as part of Farishta cluster, Tulsi Nagar Park, Ram Bagh and Jharoda Village.
