The Delhi government on Monday said it would deploy more <g data-gr-id="9">homeguards</g> in DTC buses to ensure women’s safety. These <g data-gr-id="10">homeguards</g> will inform the nearest police station in case of an untoward incident. Transport minister Gopal Rai said: "They, so far, were deployed with police, but this time, they have bigger challenges ahead. This is the first <g data-gr-id="14">time,</g> when <g data-gr-id="11">homeguards</g> are being deployed as marshals in DTC buses to ensure women safety and in view of this, they have big challenges ahead."
