‘More auto rickshaw with Global Positioning System (GPS) would be seen on roads, Delhi’s transport Minister Ramakant Goswami’, said on Friday.

‘Over 4,300 new auto-rickshaws with GPS have been added into fleet of auto-rickshaws in Delhi. It may be recalled that 12,000 bookings were made for auto-rickshaws out of which more than 4,300 auto-rickshaws have been delivered,’ said Goswami. The minister held a discussion with vice-president of Bajaj Auto, C K Rao, on Friday on issues related to the availability of new auto-rickshaws to ensure determined number of auto-rickshaws on Delhi roads as per directions of the Supreme Court. In the meeting it was decided that the company would double its quota of auto-rickshaws for Delhi with immediate effect. The enhanced quota would facilitate early delivery of auto-rickshaws to around 7,700 applicants on waiting list.
