Modi to address mammoth crowds in Delhi today: BJP

Update: 2014-03-26 00:15 GMT
‘We will install LCD’s at 14 prominent places in the city for audiences,’ said Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP chief. He added that the rally will set a record for attendance. The first election rally by Modi, since the recently concluded Delhi assembly elections, will be organised in Shashtri Park area in East Delhi parliamentary constituency at 6 pm.

‘We are trying for two more rallies but the schedule is yet to be approved by the central leadership,’ said V K Malhotra, chairperson of Delhi election and campaign committee. However, all seven candidates of the party will be present in the rally. The main focus of the rally will be to address issues related to two parliamentary constituencies’ seats, namely East Delhi and North East Delhi.

BJP leaders in the city are expecting Modi to give a befitting reply to Kejriwal by flaying the AAP government’s ‘flip flop policies’, besides criticising the Congress. ‘In Delhi assembly elections Modi had chosen election rallies in Delhi to provide a befitting reply to Kejriwal and he is most likely to give a befitting reply to  all his political opponents in the ensuing LS elections,’ said a senior leader of the party. AAP is considered very strong in the region. Out of ten assembly segments, the rookie party had won five seats and BJP had got only three seats along with Akali Dal (Badal).

Before starting his Bharat Vijay election rallies, Modi will visit Vaishno Devi in Jammu and address his first rally there. The second rally has been planned at Nagina area of Buland Shahar in Uttar Pradesh.
