With Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s anointment as the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, efforts to bring former BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa back into the party fold have intensified. Sources say that a decision on Yeddyurappa could be taken by end of this week and, in fact, Karnataka Janatha Paksha (KJP) leader Lehar Singh is in the national capital to hold talks with senior BJP leaders.
Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka, had expressed his keenness to join the BJP again after the formal declaration of Narendra Modi as the BJP’s PM candidate. The KJP sent an open letter to Modi to congratulate him on his elevation. The KJP senior leader and Yeddyurappa’s close aide V Dhananjay Kumar wrote the letter and stated that Modi would set things right in the BJP in Karnataka.
