M&M sales up 11% in Feb

Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday reported 10.99 per cent increase in its total sales at 47,824 units in February 2013.

The company had sold 43,087 units in the same month in 2012, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.

‘Our February 2013 performance is reflective of the customers’ preference for our products, for which we thank them,’ M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division) Pravin Shah said.

In the domestic market, the company registered a 9.73 per cent rise in sales to 44,399 units during the month compared to 40,461 units in the year-ago period, M&M said. Total sales of passenger vehicles including Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 23,421 units as against 20,573 units in February 2012, translating into 13.84 per cent increase.


FORD INDIA TOTAL SALES FALL 30%

Car maker Ford India on Friday reported 30.42 per cent decline in its total sales in February this year at 7,253 units.

The company had sold a total of 10,424 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.

The domestic sales also went down by 44.12 per cent to 4,490 units in February this year as against 8,035 units in the same month last year, it added.


HONDA SOLD 2.28L UNITS LAST MONTH

Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Friday reported 10.87 per cent growth in its total sales for February 2013 at 2,28,444 units.

The company's total sales stood at 2,06,043 units in the corresponding month last year.

Motorcycle sales jumped 30.69 per cent to 1,08,553 units in February 2013 from 83,061 units in February 2012, HMSI said in a statement.
