The body of a 13-year-old boy who was missing from last two days has been found stuffed in a box kept at the shop of a salon opposite victim’s residence in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. The body was found decomposed and was burnt with acid.
Identified as Arham Hussain, he is a class seventh student went missing on late Friday evening at about 9 pm after he went for a hair cut at a salon opposite his residence. His father, who is an export businessman, told police that his son did not return thereafter.
Based on the complaint, a police team who reached the residence of the victim went at the Salon and detained the workers for questioning. After quizzing them. All the workers were released. On Saturday morning the family members received a ransom call of Rs 10 lakhs and the kidnappers asked victim’s father to come near a railway track with the ransom amount.
Receiving the ransom call Hussain’s father immediately updated the cops about it, but family members claimed that Delhi police did not took the call seriously and failed to take any action. On Sunday morning, at about 11 am, Mohammad Sameer (father) again received a ransom call and again he informed police.
On Sunday afternoon, during investigation, a team reached the shop and conducted a raid.
During the raid, one of the police official opened a box kept in the shop and found a decomposed body. The body was later identified as of Hussain. His body was having burn injuries that preliminarily appears to be caused by acid. In the investigation it was learnt that he was strangled to death and later attacked with acid to hide his identity.
Cops have arrested one of the workers and the owner of the shop who has given it on rent. ‘Investigation is on to establish the reason behind the brutal murder of an innocent child,’ the official added.
Sources, however points towards the possibility of unnatural offenses with the victim.
Senior police officials have not confirmed the claims and added, ‘The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination and the reports are awaited.’
A case of murder and criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused at Jamia Nagar police Station.
