A minor fire broke out on the first floor of the Mercantile House Building on Kasturba Gandhi Marg on Friday. According to the fire department officials, five fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
Meanwhile, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
According to the fire department official, they received a call at around 5:10 pm that a fire has broken out on the first floor office of the Mercantile House building on Kasturba Gandhi Marg.
It took the fire fighters around half an hour to douse the flames.
As per a fire department official, the fire erupted in a vacant premise where renovation work was underway. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short-circuit.
In a separate incident, a fire alarm went off at the ninth floor of the Delhi Police Headquarters on Friday after a false alarm system started ringing all of a sudden.
According to the fire department, fire tenders came, however, citing that there was no fire, the tenders left within a few minutes.
Meanwhile, senior police officials of the Delhi Police PRO denied that there was any fire in the police headquarters.
