Mini bus crushes 14-year-old boy to death in east Delhi

A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding Rural Transport Vehicle (RTV)  mini bus near New Ashok Nagar area in east Delhi, on Sunday morning. 

The vehicle was impounded by police and the driver was arrested soon after the incident.
The victim, Vishal (14), was a resident of Kondli colony. ‘On Sunday morning, he went to a nearby locality to fetch water on his bicycle. When he was on his way home, a speeding RTV crushed him to death near the Kondli Chowk,’ said Shishu Pal, the victim’s father.

According to an eye-witness, the driver had lost control of the vehicle.

A passerby reported the incident to the police at around 9.30 am. Police rushed the boy to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, said a police official.

The RTV driver, identified as Satyapal, tried to escape but was nabbed by an agitated mob. He further said that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol. 

‘It is a clear case of negligent driving and Satyapal was booked under relevant sections of the IPC’, 
he added.
