‘On the basis of feedback and suggestions received from Metro commuters, the add value through token vending machines will be of Rs.100 and thereupon in multiples from Rs 50 up to Rs 1,000,’ Delhi Metro said in a statement. Delhi Metro had on 21 May introduced some changes and doubled its smart card add value.
‘As most of Delhi Metro’s smart card users are regular travellers, and with the opening of the Rapid Metro and more corridors of Phase 3, the maximum fare required for travel will increase as the commuters would cover more distance,’ the statement said.
There are about 170 token vending machines at 83 metro stations through which commuters may purchase single journey tokens and add value to their smart cards.
