AAP spokesperson Sisodia fought the election against Nakul Bhardwaj (BJP) and Anil Kumar Chaudhary (Congress), former MLA from the Patpargunj constituency of East Delhi. As news of Sisodia’s victory came in, the AAP leader along with his supporters came out on the roads.

At around 2.45 pm, when two of Sisodia’s supporters were standing near Retreat Apartment in Indraprastha Extension, BJP supporters allegedly started beating them. It is alleged that Bhardwaj was also involved in the scuffle.

AAP supporter Bhupender Uniyal told Millennium Post: ‘When Sisodia was heading to the area to thank locals, Bhardwaj and his supporters surrounded two AAP workers and started beating them up with bricks. They also used abusive language and tore the clothes of the victims.’ However, the concerned police official denied the involvement of Bhardwaj in the episode.

An AAP member even recorded the incident on his mobile. The injured AAP supporters were taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.

‘Medical tests of both the victims have been conducted and a complaint has been lodged at Madhu Vihar police station,’ Uniyal added. However, speaking to Millennium Post, the investigating officer accepted that till late on Sunday evening no far FIR was lodged as both the parties expressed willingness to negotiate the matter.

Reacting to this statement, an AAP supporters said, ‘Why would we prefer negotiation? We want action against the accused. Sisodia is busy but he will pressurise the police to register the FIR and take necessary actions.’
