French club Lille's Belgian star Eden Hazard has hinted at a move to newly-crowned European champions Chelsea admitting that their Champions League victory has made a difference to his plans.
Hazard is one of the hottest properties in Europe with many big names vying for his signature. The Belgian is surely heading for the English Premier League but it remains to be seen which club will he be playing for next season. He had earlier said that he would move to one of the Manchester clubs.
Lille's asking price for the 21-year-old is 35 million pounds and he had looked destined for Manchester City this summer. But, while still interested in the player, the Premier League champions have gone cool on the deal.
'I have not made my choice. Chelsea is a possibility now, yes. Chelsea will play in the Champions League next year,' Hazard was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
'They are a great team with great players. Their interest has made me hesitate. I want it (his future) sorted out by June 2 when Belgium play England. I want to go on holiday with a clear head.'
Hazard joined Lille in 2005 and spent two years developing in the club's local sports school, due to its youth academy in Luchin not being in operation at that time. On 28 May 2007, he signed his first professional contract agreeing to a three year deal with Lille. The playmaker has made 147 appearances for the club and has scored 36 goals.
