Suspecting his wife of having an illicit relationship, a 25-year-old man murdered her and chopped her body into pieces stuffing them in a bag which he threw near Yamuna Khadar area in east Delhi on Saturday. The deceased’s husband has been arrested on Tuesday who has confessed to the crime.
Eight months ago, Neetu Gaur married the accused Om Prakash, a resident of Ghaziabad and a sales manager in a telecom firm. ‘Soon after the marriage, their relationship soured and the couple started having fights over small issues,’ a family member said.  The accused told the police that he had a suspicion on his wife of having an illicit relationship. For the same, the duo often indulged in heated arguments. In the recent past, when Prakash raised questions on his wife’s character, she moved to her father’s house and started staying with her parents.

On Saturday, the police said, Prakash called up his wife and made a plan to go for a movie. Accordingly, he called her to Noida Sector-18 and suggested her to take the metro. Without informing her parents, Neetu went to meet Prakash in Noida. The couple then watched a movie and purchased a suitcase from the mall. ‘It is the same suitcase that was used to stuff her body parts,’ a police official adds quoting Prakash’s statement. He then parked his car at an isolated place and strangled his wife to death.

The police official recovered the suitcase and found the decomposed body. It was sent for post-mortem and on Wednesday it will be handed over to her family members for the last rites.
