With the arrest of four persons, the police claimed to have solved a murder case reported at outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area, in which a private financer was beaten up and his associate was abducted and later killed.
The four accused in this case were identified as Kuldeep, Amit Mann, Ravi Sharma, Ram Singh and Umed. All of them are residents of Outer Delhi localities including Rohini, Rithala and Sultanpuri, said police on Tuesday.
Both the deceased and the prime accused, Kuldeep, owned a fleet of RTVs which plied in the area. They were business rivals and the deceased had once allegedly physically assaulted the prime accused before, for which the prime accused wanted to seek revenge.
According to the police, a private financer, identified as Basant Kumar and his friend Dhillu, who owned a fleet of Rural Transport Vehicles plying in Outer Delhi, were at Kumar’s office in Aman Vihar on April 10, 2014, when suddenly a gang of five persons forced inside and started attacking them with sticks and knives. Then they abducted Dhillu, pointing a gun at Kumar.
An FIR was registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other relevant Sections of IPC against several unknown persons after the incident.
The next day, Dhillu’s body was found near Jharoda drain and it turned into a case of murder with several angles of probe including robbery and enmity. A team was formed immediately and several raids were conducted at places that include Muraina, Bhind (MP), Samalka, Panipat, Jhajjar, Gurgaon, Nazafgarh, Narela, Jaunti and other places in Delhi-NCR, said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer).
Finally on April 18, 2015, Amit Mann and Ravi Sharma were arrested from Lake View apartment in Rohini, following the arrest of others in the next three days. During interrogation, it also emerged that Kuldeep, who was arrested from Rithala metro station, was about to leave for Nepal.
Kuldeep also owned a fleet of rural transport vehicles that plied in outer Delhi areas and he was a business rival of deceased Dhillu. Around two years before the incident, Dhillu had allegedly beaten up Kuldeep. Later a case was also registered against Dhillu regarding this. Kuldeep wanted to take revence and, hence, he allegedly hatched the whole plan to kill Dhillu.
He first contacted Amit Mann, who helped him execute the plan and roped in the other accused persons, said police.
