Few days ago, the 30-year-old doctor filed a complaint at Lajpat Nagar police station alleging that she was being harassed by a man who is continuously sending her obscene messages and videos on
her mobile phone.
Despite being warned by the victim, he continued send her messages. On Tuesday, the police laid a trap and asked the victim to call him to meet her at Lajpat Nagar metro station.
Following their instructions, she made a call and asked him to come alone. In the evening, when the victim reached metro station, she found that the accused was waiting for her at the platform.
According to the plan, the policemen were deployed at the metro station in civil dress. Soon after the accused approached the woman, the cops nabbed him.
He has booked him under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The woman works in a private clinic in south Delhi and lives with her mother in a rented accommodation in Lajpat Nagar.
Meanwhile, the accused has been identified as Faizan Akhtar, a resident of south-east Delhi’s Nizammudin area. He is a taxi driver.
He confessed to police that the doctor used to visit the locality he stays in and wanted to have a relationship with her. Somehow, he managed to het her phone number after which he started sending her obscene messages.
During investigation, it was found that since 18 September, the accused had sent around 150 vulgar videos and 300 lewd messages to the victim. The accused has been sent to Tihar Jail.
