Mamata invited to USA to showcase WB as investment hub

The US-India Business Council has invited West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to visit <g data-gr-id="15">USA</g> to showcase Bengal as an ideal destination for investment.

In a recent letter to the CM, US-India Business Council (USIBC) chairman Ajay Banga even promised the CM to arrange for an investors' meet in the US to help mobilise investment for the state. Disclosing the text of the letter, state's Finance and Industry Minister Amit Mitra said the USIBC chairman appreciated the industrial environment prevailing in the state.

"The state has good business environment and <g data-gr-id="14">tremendous</g> opportunity for investment," the letter said, adding "now it is up to the CM to take a call".

The USIBC has partnered with major trade bodies in India, including CII, FICCI, AmCham India, National Association of Software and Services Companies, Indus Entrepreneurs and Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
