West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee greets Congress President Sonia Gandhi on her 69th birthday in New Delhi on Wednesday. Banerjee, whose party had supported the Congress in Parliament against alleged repression by government, steered clear of questions on the issue, merely saying she had come to greet Gandhi on her birthday. Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday seeking more central funds for West Bengal. She said a meeting of the Niti Ayog should be called and all states invited so that disbursal of funds to states can be discussed.
