The West Bengal legislative assembly saw the chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s announcing the payment an additional dearness allowance (DA) to the state government employees from January.
The CM told the assembly on Thursday that her employees would get an additional DA instalment of 6 per cent from 20 January. The Congress staged a walkout as they were not allowed by the speaker to counter the chief minister who held the centre responsible for the recent hike in price of essential commodities and vegetables. The opposition leader Surya Kanta Mishra also raised objections as Mamata announced payment of DA.
