The Delhi Commission for Woman (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal on Wednesday has written a letter to the Police Commissioner of Delhi Alok Kumar Verma for ensuring a free and fair investigation in the horrific case of rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl.
The DCW Chief tweeted: “Written a letter to Police Commissioner to demand SIT for 14 year old girl rape case and police protection for her family”.
Maliwal in her letter to the Commissioner clearly mentioned about the rape and murder of the 14-year-old girl. The Commission on July 15 dispatched its Mobile Helpline Team and recorded the statements of the victim and her father.
Further, seeing the horrifying medical condition of the girl who was continuously vomiting, the Commission shifted her to a better private hospital. In her statement, the victim alleged that the local police forced her to change her statement.
DCW chief in her letter requested the investigators dealing with the alleged repeated kidnapping and rape and finally murder of a minor girl by poisoning be transferred to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of senior officers and the parents of the victim be promptly provided with effective security and protection.
She further mentioned that the investigation into the illegal and frivolous FIR against her be stayed forthwith and an inquiry be ordered into the brazen attempt by Burari police station to overawe and intimidate a statutory body with the intention of preventing a fair investigation into the grievous case of rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl.
