Major reshuffle in Delhi Police, 20 ACPs, 50 SHOs transferred

In a major reshuffle in Delhi Police, 20 Assistant commissioner of Police (ACP) and 50 Station Head Officers (SHO) were transferred on Monday.

Recently on 19 June, 36 ACPs were also transferred. On Monday, an order was issued by GS Awana, Additional DCP, to transfer the officers. Around six ACPs who have been transferred from A7NI, Chandigarh and Security have been promoted as ACPs with immediate effects.

However, the orders issued on 5 August related to the transfer of Patel Aalap Mansukh from security to ACP/Lajpat Nagar and Sanjeev Gupta who is looking after the work of ACP/Central and was transferred as ACP/DIU(south) have been cancelled. A major reshuffle took place among the SHOs.

Atul Sood, who was posted as SHO at Sarojini Nagar police station has been transferred to 3rd Battalion. Sood was handling the case of the controversial death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former union minister Shashi Tharoor.

Among 50 newly transferred SHOs, 21 officers have been promoted as SHOs.
