Madagascar diplomat found dead in rented apartment

According to the senior police officers of the South district, preliminary investigation suggests that the diplomat identified as Rabenja Holliba died of cardiac arrest.

Sources said that Holliba, the second counsellor in the Embassy, had organised a party at his residence on Sunday night. Post party, he did not show up for work. He contacted one of his colleagues on Monday, after which his calls went unanswered.

An official of the Embassy visited Holliba’s house on Tuesday evening and found that it was locked. The official then informed his senior officials and the police said that they received a PCR call after which a team was sent to the spot. The door was opened and the diplomat’s body was found on the second floor of his house in his bedroom.

Senior cops said that in the preliminary medical report, no injury marks have been found on the deceased’s body.

A probe under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC has been initiated. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem. Embassy officials have informed that deceased’s family. He is survived by his wife and two children.
