Elaborating on this, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, "During <g data-gr-id="62">investigation</g>, a word which came to my attention was 'drawings'. Four drawings, six drawings.. It is a technical term used in engineering, which is why when you say 'drawings', no one will doubt," he said.
In a related development, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said the Centre will extend all possible assistance to expose the "scams" during Congress rule in Goa, terming the Louis Berger bribery case as just the "tip of the iceberg".
"This (Louis Berger scam) is just the tip of the iceberg. It is time to bring out all the Congress scams in the open," the BJP leader and former Goa CM said addressing party workers here on Saturday. Parsekar had also spoken on the issue at the meet.
Crime Branch which has recorded several statements of Louis Berger company's local officials have confirmed that A Wachasunder, who headed JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) water project in Goa, had demanded the bribes.
Subsequently, Wachasunder was arrested and currently lodged in police custody.
Referring to Crime Branch's interrogation of former Goa chief minister Digambar Kamat in connection with the scam, Parsekar left no one in doubt that the former CM will face more trouble.
"Is Kamat involved in the scam? Wait and watch. <g data-gr-id="53">Crime</g> branch has <g data-gr-id="54">lot</g> of proofs." He, however, did not delve into the details of the proofs. Former PWD minister Churchill Alemao has also been interrogated by the Crime Branch.
Parrikar said that while the law enforcement agencies will do their work, the party should keep up pressure on Kamat, who headed the Congress-led government when the alleged bribery scam took place in 2009, and he should be "made to suffocate over the scam."
"They will be exposed. I guarantee that I will offer whatever help is needed from the Centre, right from the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax and CBI to expose them," he said. .
It was clearly stated in the US District Court order that the company officials have paid bribes to the then Goa ministers, Parrikar said.
“Now there are only two (former) ministers in the zone of consideration. No other ministers are related to this. PWD (minister) is natural, but along with PWD minister there is also Finance (minister) who has to release the money. If he does not release the money, this cannot happen,” Parrikar said.
Attacking Kamat, he told party workers: “Put him in a corner and ensure that he is made to suffocate over the scam.” “If thieves need to be caught, one needs to speak less. I appreciate the police, which is otherwise the butt of ridicule. In order to crack the Louis Berger case, our police went to three places, Jaipur, Gurgaon and Chandigarh,” Parsekar said.
