A couple who were live-in partners have been arrested by Delhi Police for killing the man’s wife at their rented accommodation in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar J&K Extension. After killing her, the couple had stuffed her body inside the bed’s box and stayed with the body for two days before escaping.

The accused persons have been identified as Feroj Khan and his live-in partner — Suman. The police got to know about the matter on July 29, when they found the dead body of Haleema, who was a professional dancer.

During a verification drive it was revealed that a tenant was also residing in the premises along with one lady for the last two months and was not available on the said premises for the last few days. Information was developed regarding the tenant and Feroj was arrested along with Suman from some other place in the city.

“During interrogation, Feroj confessed to his involvement along with his accomplice Suman in the murder.  He further claimed that he had married Haleema about 10-12 years ago. About a year ago Haleema had left  Feroj for some other person following which Feroj reportedly started having a relationship with Suman and started living together.

“However, Feroj said that Haleema wanted to return to him and raised objection on his staying with Suman,” said a senior police officer privy to the investigation.

“Therefore, Feroj and Suman decided to murder Haleema. On the evening of July 27, Haleema visited Feroj’s house where Suman was also present. They had a fight and in course of the scuffle Feroj and Suman killed her. They kept the body in the flat for almost 36 hours and kept the body in the bed box on the night after,” Rishi Pal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) said.
