Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) celebrated the completion of 57th anniversary. Company's north zonal manager A P Singh summarised the glorious years of customer service and performance of company in competitive environment.
One of the pioneer of customer services, LIC holds 83.24 per cent of market share of new policies. 'Every organisation has a vision by the year 2020, we want to reach every possible customer in the country,' A P Singh said.
In the times of economic crisis, for many people below poverty line and some living merely above it, LIC has launched policies like, aam admi beema yojna and group insurance schemes to benefit as many people as they can. While talking about the competitive environment in investment sector, Singh gives credit to employees for corporation to stay in the market.
'Our employees believe in delivering to the customers and that is what differs us from rest of the players in the market,' he said.
The corporation benefits 29 crore plus customers with their policies hence making it the most dominant market share holder as well as policy seller. National development is another agenda of LIC, and it spends ample amount of money every year for construction of old age homes, libraries, computer center and training institutes for differently abled. For convenience of customers, the corporation has both online and offline payment channels. 'We want to reach as many people as we can to enrich and secure their lives,' Singh added.
